The Advent House as an ambassador of Erzgebirge folk art known throughout the world

The Advent House by Richard Glässer from Seiffen with the narrative of the holy story and angels combines the excellent quality work of Seiffen craftsmen with the unique tradition of Erzgebirge folk art.For over 70 years, the family manufactory has been producing Christmas pyramids and with this unusual design, the company has been delighting customers around the world for decades.

The Advent House: A Christmas pyramid with an unusual design

The basic structure of the 3 - story Advent House is a normal pyramid with a metal rod running through the middle on which small figures and objects rotate in different floors. On the top always sits a winged wheel, that moves slowly in the light of the candles. Striking in this Christmas pyramid is the shape. As a cottage it has a lower platform, which is designed open. The second and third floor has shutters, which you open on the respective Advent. Behind each door there are new pictures, which increase the anticipation of Christmas.

The Holy Story as a popular motif for Christmas pyramids

The Holy Family finds a place on the lowest floor. There you can see the stable of Bethlehem, in which Mary and Joseph protect their newborn child in the manger. This group of figures is permanently installed in the center and does not move. She is facing forward. Around her are the Magi with camels and camel drivers on their way,who want to present their gifts to Jesus Christ. Two shepherds with their sheep are also moving toward the stable.

The Christmas pyramid Advent house with four doors to open

The second platform lets you look into the world of angels. Behind the little door of the 2. Advent sit two little angels in a Christmas room with many gifts. They help Santa Claus with the gifts. The 3.Advent shows the angels in the Christmas bakery. There is kneaded, rolled out and baked. Behind the largest window hides a whole angel chapel. Before one can open however these Türchen, is the first window in the uppermost floor to it. There Kurrendekinder, with lantern and song books the glad message bring.
