The fine art of making chipped trees

In Seiffen, a spa town known for its toy craftsmanship, Gunter Flath produces masterful chipped trees. The production of these little trees is considered the supreme discipline in the training as a toy maker. By carefully lifting small chips around a lime blank, filigree, uniquely beautiful little trees are created. They traditionally decorate pyramids, candle arches or candle holders, but can also fascinate as solo works of art or arranged in groups.
