If one visits the Erzgebirge in the Christmas season in the twilight illuminate the many small villages and towns in a special light. The windows shine in a warm glow by countless lights, which especially the candle arches conjure. Candle arches or light arches belong to the oldest Christmas decorations in our region. They have their origin in the mining industry. There, for the last shift before Christmas, the miner's lamps were hung around the semicircular mouth of the mine. This form reflects the traditional candle arch in most cases. The motifs range from scenes from the lives of miners to animal-and forest motifs. Candle Arches can also be equipped with figures and buildings.

Schwarzenberger Candle Arch as the oldest motif of the Erzgebirge

The Candle Arch Schwarzenberger in natural color from Nestler goes back to one of the first designs of Candle Arches ever. It shows the life of miners associated with religious symbols. In the center are two miners in their traditional costumes with the coat of arms of the Saxon electoral swords and below hammer and mallet framed by a lace maker and a carver.  Above the lace maker hangs a so-called Chandelier spider  (wooden ceiling candelabrum) and above the wood carver hovers an angel of light. The scene is shown schematically and is one of the most common and popular motifs of candle arches. The picture is framed by a wooden arch, which is equipped with 10 LED- filament candles and brings a homey atmosphere to your home.

The Candle Arch Schwarzenberger with 10 LED- filament candles is made from local woods, eg. Beech or spruce manufactured. Use of the candle arch in the U.S. / North America / Japan with 110 V

The candle arch can be operated with a voltage of 230 V as well as 110 V.
Please note, that for the connection of this article abroad (Japan / North America) a plug adapter is necessary. Likewise, the illuminant must be changed to corrugated candles filament 10x 12V or 10x LED 10-55V, 0.2W. These items are available in our store under accessories and lighting.
