The sacred story is the story of the birth of Jesus Christ. This event is celebrated by people at Christmas and many associate it with Ore Mountain traditions. It was the miners of the Ore Mountains, who looked for new employment after the decline of mining, to earn a living. Their attachment to their homeland and their faith gave rise to Erzgebirge folk art.

Holy story fits on a candle arch

Seiffen craftsman Theo Lorenz brings the story of the Holy Family to life in a unique way on his candle arch. The scene shows the Christmas story with the most important protagonists. The stable in Bethlehem forms the center. The Star of Bethlehem can be seen under the roof, which shows the Three Wise Men the way to the baby Jesus. Mary and Joseph stand protectively beside the child in the manger. A shepherd with three sheep and a dog watch the scene. The Magi have arrived at the stable and welcome the newborn Messiah with their gifts. A camel accompanies them. The picture has an oriental feel thanks to the two palm trees, which grow to the right and left of the stable.

Theo Lorenz skillfully adds colourful accents to this candle arch. Overall, the candle arch is made in natural colors, so that the grain of the wood comes into its own. By using different woods, the craftsman emphasizes, for example, the clothing of the figures. Selected color glazes highlight details such as the palm trees or the roof of the stable. The figures themselves are richly detailed and the faces are carefully hand-painted. All paints,glazes and varnishes are naturally environmentally friendly and of high quality. Candle arch as a symbol of mining

Candle arches with Christian motifs are a unique combination of mining and faith.
The typical semi-circular shape of the candle arch represents the entrance to a mine. The lights are to be understood as miner's lamps, which were hung around the mouth hole after the last shift before Christmas. Light is simply part of Christmas in the Erzgebirge. Arches of light shine in all the windows, Angels- and miner figures or illuminated window pictures.

The candle arch can be operated with a voltage of 230 V as well as 110 V.
Please note, that a plug adapter is required for connecting this article abroad (Japan / North America). The bulb must also be replaced with 7x LED 10-55V corrugated candles, 0.2W.
