Deco tree chip tree assortment in the chip box by Gunter Flath

Deco tree chip tree assortment in the chip box by Gunter Flath

assortment of chip trees in a chip tin by Gunter Flath from Seiffen in the Erzgebirge

Erzgebirge wood art is an integral part of German craft culture, which is characterized by traditional manufacturing methods and exceptional design. Particularly noteworthy are the wonderful chip trees, which are made in an artistic manner.

With patience and a lot of feeling

Flath's chip trees are small masterpieces: Each tree is made with the utmost precision and attention to detail. The art of chip tree engraving is mastered by only a few wood artists. This technique requires a special dexterity. Delicate chips are lifted from a turned lime wood blank with a chisel and formed into curls. You will receive in this set three chip trees from 3.5 cm to 2 cm. In the chip tin they are safely packed, because chip trees are to be handled with particular care due to their delicate appearance.

Wood as a natural material

The natural structure of the wood creates a unique atmosphere and makes each chip tree a distinctive individual piece. The characteristic style with the fine chip curls makes the chip trees so special. Gunter Flath proves, that Erzgebirge wood art is deeply rooted in tradition, but still the signs of the times are recognizable. He therefore relies on the use of high-quality wood from sustainable forestry.

Chip trees for many purposes

The beautiful design of the chip trees makes them a unique decorative Christmas decoration. However, chip trees are also often used to enhance collections of Erzgebirge folk art. In showcases between Smoking Men, Nutcracker &  Co they look particularly beautiful. Discover the stunning chip trees by Gunter Flath and let yourself be enchanted by the Erzgebirge wood art.
