Tealight holder Seiffen church with Kurrende by Thomas Preißler from Seiffen in the Erzgebirge

The Seiffen mountain church is one of the most famous motifs of the Erzgebirge. Especially at Christmas time, the famous church can be found in many articles of Erzgebirge folk art. Christmas pyramids, candleholders and candle arches are decorated with the Seiffen church. The work of the many local toymakers has brought the face of the church out into the world. With its octagonal floor plan, the mountain church is reminiscent of the Frauenkirche in Dresden.

Seiffen mountain church popular motif for tealight holders

The small family business Thomas Preißler from Seiffen produces this decorative candle holder with the landmark of the toy village. The candle holder is stained in natural colors in different shades, so that the structure of the wood is clearly visible. The church has a dark roof and the four "porches" are also dark. The four high windows are printed, as are the entrance doors to the church.

Candle holders / tea light holders as special Christmas decorations

Next to the church are two carol singers with a hymn book, lantern and star. Curry singers usually perform Christmas carols during the church service. On Advent weekends, they parade through the town in small groups and visit mostly elderly people, to delight them with their Christmas carols. Behind the carol singers stands a turned Christmas tree. A tea light can be safely placed in a metal recess (spout) and lit.

The candle holder then shines in the warm candlelight on the coffee table or on the festively decorated Christmas table. Auch dieser Kerzenhalter ist bestens gelungen und von feiner Qualität bis ins Detail! Waren selber schon in der Seiffener Kirche und mögen auch die kleinen Kurrenden. Seit ein paar Jahren sind auch unsere Töchter dem Weihnachtszauber des Erzgebirges "verfallen" und schmücken zunehmend ihr Heim damit.
